Opening Position: All four couples join hands in front and face anti-clockwise around the circle, gents on the inside.
A Lead Around All four couples dance anti-clockwise around until back in original places.  During the last two bars each couple changes to the standard position by the gent turning the lady clockwise under both arms 8 bars
B Swing All four couples swing in place. 8 bars
C Figure (a)  HOUSE:  1ST TOPS dance around the house inside (8 bars).

(b)  LEAD AROUND:  1ST TOPS & 2ND TOPS lead around inside, dancing in a clockwise direction, ladies in the centre beside each other (8 bars).

(c)  WHEEL:  Each top couple regains original place, passes it, and gives right hands to the side couple to their left.  The two groups of four dancers, right hands joined, wheel clockwise (4 bars), then change direction, join left hands and wheel back anti-clockwise (4 bars).

(d)  LITTLE CHRISTMAS:  Each group of dancers forms into a tight circle, arms around each other’s backs, and dances around clockwise.

(e)  SWING:  The circles break into the original couples who swing in place.

(b)  SLIDE & CHANGE PARTNERS:  TOP COUPLES advance and retire once (4 bars); then the couples separate and the gents dance in an anti-clockwise direction around each other to pick up the side ladies to their left (4 bars).  The side ladies dance on the spot for the last 4 bars.

(c)  HOUSE & HOME:  TOP GENTS and their new partners dance around the house inside (8 bars), starting and finishing at their new partner’s position, and then dance around at home (8 bars).

(d)  SLIDE & CHANGE PARTNERS:  TOP GENTS and their new partners repeat (b).  The gents move one place around again to pick up the opposite top ladies (8 bars).

(e)  HOUSE & HOME:  TOP GENTS and their new partners repeat (c) (16 bars).

(f)  SLIDE & CHANGE PARTNERS:  TOP GENTS and their new partners repeat (b).  The gents move one place around again to pick up the side ladies (8 bars).

Figure 6 Hornpipe - 40 bars
Opening Position: Couples adopt the standard position.
A Body Each couple advances to the centre and retires back to their starting place (2 bars), then dances around to the position of the couple on their right (2 bars).

This movement is repeated three more times (for another 12 bars), the couples ending up back in their original positions (16 bars total).
